Bagworth Imperials FC were born around 1902 as the village team.
A lot of the players worked in the coal mines around the area.
At the outbreak of World War Two a lot of the players signed up to fight while the rest were drafted in to work in the mines for the war effort.
With the loss of players to both active and civllian service, it was decieded to disbanned the team until after the war, this never happend, until now.
In 2005 Rod Moore and Chris Biggs were talking in the Maynard Pub and thought it would be a good idea to set up a Sunday side, stuck for a name, they decided to ask some of the older locals, and the name that kept poping up was the Bagworth Imps.
A commitee was soon formed with an origanal player of the pre war days, George Bateman, as president.
David Fantham as Chairman, Rod Moore as Secatery and Russ Eastwood as treasurer, the rest of the commitee as follows, Chris Biggs, Keith Huges, Rachel Crowden and Sammy Archer.
Tragedy struck the club the night before the first league game with the sudden death of George Bateman.
George is rememberd every season via a donation made from his family of a sheild, The George Bateman Memorial Shield For Players Player of The Year.
Other donated trophies are,
